A high percentage of us are visual people. We learn and remember with visual cues such as images, maps, reading, highlights, notes, graphs, charts, and other key methods. Marketing today has taken a largely visual route, especially with branding tools like logos, colors, and even images.

Visual Marketing is a function that we should be looking at in terms of small business marketing. According to Wiki, “as a key component of modern marketing, visual marketing focuses on studying and analyzing how images can be used to make objects the center of visual communication.”

Social media has become a key component in marketing your product, yourself or an actual item, and it is the perfect outlet for some of your visual marketing today. Do not discount using images for other marketing efforts either. Email marketing, direct mail marketing, one on one networking, and more can all employ visuals!

How can you make a difference in your marketing efforts?

Images that speak for your brand can be created by using set colors, font styles, similar image style, filter styles, similar graphics, and similar image setup. You can attach a mini logo or brand it with your signature using the same font and style as your website.

Marketing videos using the same concepts. BuzzFeed videos come to mind especially. They use the same style, follow the same type of theme, attach their logo, and they all tell a humorous story.

Build your personal visual marketing method

Building your marketing method by using images that tell the story about you, your blog post or even something that you are selling can be done easily with cross branding with your visuals.

For instance, you wouldn’t try and sell a home without images of that home. Create flyers that have the same or similar theme, color choice, and font style so prospective buyers start to recognize your brand. Use them in your marketing on social media, on the internet, and in your one on one marketing. Soon, people start to remember your brand and think of you whenever they see your flyers, business cards, and ads. Who do you think they will think of when they want to buy or sell a home? You are not only selling a home, you are also creating your own brand using visuals.

Visual Marketing can have a big impact on your small business marketing efforts. Plan out your image and visual marketing to start taking your marketing efforts to a new level.
