* If your business is established and you are just starting your social media or looking for a change to your accounts, use your social media to add some excitement and interest to your business. Mix up your message with images that speak directly to the consumer. Whether you are using text, images, or combination of text with an image, make sure that they're clear, succinct, and reflect your message clearly.

* If you have your business on multiple social media channels, don’t use the same message across each platform. You have different followers on each platform but also you probably have some that follow you on multiple platforms as well. You don't want to be repetitive in your message.

* Different platforms call out for some different styles of posts. Whether that be the size of images but also the type of post too. For instance, Pinterest likes taller images while Instagram is more of a square image. Therefore the area for the message is a different size too.Be creative in the use of different platforms that will showcase your business the way you want it to be seen. For example, many businesses use YouTube successfully. You can then integrate the YouTube videos into different platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, your Website, etc.

* You want to make sure, however, that you're not always just promoting your own business. Try and stick to 70/30 rule. You want to try to keep it 70% other people's articles, tips and information, motivational posts, etc. and 30% about your business.

Some people even recommend the 80/20 rule. Self-promotion can get old and people will lose interest quickly when that is all your followers see.People respond well to creativity. Social media is a great way to show off your creativity and your business. Make sure that your message is branded well. Either by the use of colors, fonts, images, or style of posting on social media, you can spark a familiarity with your followers. They can recognize your business in a flash.

From contests to teaching, there are so many easy ways that you can utilize social media and interesting matters that will capture the interest of followers. Mix it up, have fun with your followers, and share information that they want in order for them to remember you and make that all important click to your website for the sale.
