Marketing has is a huge aspect in every small business. Its implications and impact can make or break your business. One of the first things that small business owners and entrepreneurs do before opening their business is to lay out their business and marketing plan. Crafting your marketing message to ensure you are reaching your market with your ads is one thing. But there's also more involved with that reach as well.Even as an individual you are continually sharing your marketing message whether it be through networking or just in regular conversation. Making sure your marketing message is consistent and effective is important to your overall business success. There's some things that you can do to ensure that your marketing message is strong and you are getting your message across. Take a look at some of these thoughts for effective communication.

Are You Effectively Sharing Your Marketing Message?

1) Make sure you utilize your tagline throughout your marketing message and ads. Your tagline is a great way to showcase what you do in just a few words and yet it's a strong portion of your branding. Your tagline is perfect for not only print media ads but also conversation such as elevator speeches, one on one conversations, and networking. Sometimes you remember a tagline and immediately correlate that to the business before you remember the name of the business. They're strong when used properly and they can be beneficial to the marketing message.

2) Know your niche and to whom you are targeting your product or services. It's easy to want to sell your product and services to anyone who may be interested but marketing to your niche is going to bring you better results faster than trying to market to anyone and everyone.

3) Just like you know your niche, also know how you're different from other similar businesses and especially know what value you are providing to your clientele. That value to your customer is foremost, for without providing a strong value, you're not giving your customers a reason to buy. Also within that thought process is to market your differences as that will help your business stand out in a crowd.

4) Using success stories and testimonials has always been a strong selling point. Those stories are great for referrals and can help clinch a sale as well. If a potential customer resonates with a testimonial statement, it can help push that waffling customer into the buying mode.

5) Utilize your marketing platforms in the best manner for your business benefit. No one says you have to be on every marketing platform or utilize every print media avenue. By knowing where your target market hangs out and then utilizing those platforms will do more for your marketing dollar and help you effectively spread your message.

I'm sure you've heard the saying “work smarter not harder” and that certainly comes to play in this aspect when you're trying to get your marketing message out in the proper manner and with the biggest impact. Embrace your differences and utilize core marketing techniques that work to provide value and build trust so that you are actively getting your marketing message across every time.
