If you been working in your small business for a while or maybe you're a startup and just floundering a bit, it is good to know that there are ways and things you can do to reenergize your business and find that passion that you once had.

Every business has its ups and downs. Slumps in business due to lack of energy or lack of passion or, maybe even, lack of focus. But there is a way that you can find that passion and redirect your energy back to where it needs to be in your business.

Check out these ideas that you can do right now to find that spark and re-energize your small business again.

  • Revisit your business plan – Your plan of action can hold a lot of energy for your business. Maybe you forgot some of your plans you mapped out originally. Maybe you need to revisit your WHY for that focus you need.
  • Brainstorm and write down all of your ideas – Plan a day for mapping out new ideas. Maybe invite a friend or family member to get their thoughts and outlook for your business. You never know what nugget you can get from someone else’s point of view.
  • Find a class or meeting that you want to attend and pay for it – Paying for it is key. You know you need to update new methods and learn something new. Book it, calendar it, and attend with open eyes and your notebook.
  • Organize and clean your store office or whatever space you use - Spruce it up and make it look a little different. Refreshing your work space gives you new energy and focus. Plus if you are in a retail space, your customers will love it too!
  • Update your website - Give it a new theme. Refresh it with a beautiful look that speak who you are. Add new images and content.
  • Contact old clients you haven't heard from in a while – How long has it been since you connected with your past clients? Do you do a newsletter or email contact? How about regular mail?   Better yet, pick up the phone!
  • Connect with other business owners in your area and find a way to work together – Having the support and connection with other small business owners can help generate new ideas and contacts that you may not have had. Find a networking group or form your own connections.
  • Find local events that you can get involved with – Getting involved in the community is always a good idea for small business owners. You get more visibility and the best reward is giving back.
  • Create new graphics for your social media campaign – Re-energize your social media with a new look or method for your social media outreach.
  • Read business related books and start gathering new ideas – Educating yourself is always a plus for bringing new energy into your business. Map out business books you need to read and strive to read at least one a week, if not more.

While these things may seem simple, chances are you have not been doing some of them. It is easy to lose focus and get lost in the minutia of the day. Customers love positive energy in a small business and you can find yours again by starting with simple steps that will remind you of why you are doing this in the first place.
